Description
Jet is a mineraloid gemstone, formed from wood that has decayed under extreme pressure, over the course of millions of years. Because it is relatively soft, it is easily carved and shaped. Jet is made from wood, and this can be confirmed under magnification, as it preserves the original cellular structure of the wood from which it formed.
