Gamma ray irradiation, followed by a mild heat treatment gives it the bright yellow color. **Please note that no there is no residual radiation in the stones after processing, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has stated that they are safe to handle and wear.** Yellow quartz is thought to enhance clarity, happiness, and balance.
